BALLINDERRY BRIDGE ANGLING CLUB WATER

Club Water

Situated on the lower Ballinderry River, this club water covers a 3 mile stretch from Lough Neagh up to The Birch Wood. At around 20 meters wide, this stretch has a good head of wild trout, which can be caught on the dry and wet fly all season.

Dollaghan and salmon fishing is best in the latter half of the season, July to October, and give good sport on the fly and by spinning and worming.

COAGH ANGLING CLUB WATER

Club Water

Situated on the lower Ballinderry River, this club water covers a 2km stretch from The Birch Wood up to Coagh Bridge. At roughly 20 meters wide, this stretch has a good head of wild trout and salmon which can be caught on the dry and wet fly.

During late June there is occasionally a run of early Dollaghan and salmon, however, these are best in the latter half of the season, July to October and give good sport on the fly and by spinning and worming.

 

Facilities

Cars can be parked at Coagh Bridge in the village of Coagh.
Toilets and a picnic area are located near the car park
A restaurant and shops are available in the village centre

KINGS BRIDGE ANGLING CLUB WATER

Club Water

Situated near the town of Cookstown, this stretch is located on two rivers, the Ballinderry River and its tributary, the Killymoon River.

The King’s Beat on the Ballinderry is a medium sized river with a series of deep angling pools including Benson’s Hole, The Bathing Boxes and Lormer’s Corner, set in a wooded sandstone gorge.

The Princes Beat on the Killymoon offers a smaller, faster flowing river, set in open parkland.

Both beats have a good head of wild brown trout which can be caught on the dry and wet fly.

 

Beats

The King’s Beat (Ballinderry) – From the confluence of the Killymoon River with the Ballinderry up to the King’s Bridge at the A29.
The Prince’s Beat (Killymoon) – From the mouth of the Killymoon River up to The Prince of Wales Bridge at the Grange Road .

 

Facilities

Car park at the Cabin Wood for both beats. The Cabin Wood is located just off the Stewartstown Road, near the A29 roundabout at Cookstown.

River
Situated near the hamlet of Drapersfield, roughly 4 miles east of Cookstown.
This water stretches from Ardtrea Bridge (the big bridge) up to the old railway bridge (above the Red Bridge).

Lough
Lough Fea is located roughly 7 miles northwest of Cookstown on the B162 road between Cookstown and Draperstown.

Gibson’s Beat – Gibson’s ruined weir up to Drapersfield
Drapersfield Beat – Drapersfield up to the old railway bridge (above the Red Bridge)

Lough Fea – There are three car parks located around the lough. Toilet facilities and a picnic area are located at car park 1

• Season subscription is payable annually before 31st March
• Lough Fea – Fly fishing only. Trolling, spinning and bait fishing strictly prohibited
• River – all legal method permitted (no maggots, shrimp or prawn)
• Membership badge must be worn at all times by season members when fishing
• No trout less than 9 inches to be taken from club waters
• Club waters open on 1st March and close 31st October
• The club committee reserves the right to alter or revoke these conditions or withdraw tickets at any time
• Lough Fea will be close to fishing during the 3 days before a competition

Located roughly 3 miles southwest of Cookstown, this club water is at the meeting of three rivers, the Claggan, The Rock and the Killymoon.

Small to medium sized rivers (6-10m wide) holding a good head of medium sized brown trout, dollaghan trout and occasional salmon.

Tullylagan Beat – From Tullylagan Bridge up to Tullylagan Weir
The Dam Beat – From Tullylagan Weir up to Lisnanane Bridge on the Claggan River and Finvey Bridge on the Rock River

BREA'S CARNLOUGH (POTTER"S LAKE) FISHERY

This mountain lough fishery is located in the townland of Evishanoran, roughly 4.5km north east of the village of Pomeroy.

Fringed with reeds, angling platforms provide clear throws into open deep water.

The lough holds a good head of wild mountain brown trout of medium size and provides the quintessential Irish lough fly-fishing experience.

Facilities

There are two car park and disabled anglers access at the Lough. These facilities are all at the northern end of the Lough, beside the road.
